How To Make Burger

⊆ 9:39 PM by Radius | . | ˜ 1 jealous craps »

Well, after being absent for a long time, Chef Hatim comes again and this time with a very special recipe that every PHSP (Poor Hungry Single Professional) can cook it at home by themselves. Please give a hand to Chef Hatim!!!

Clap!! Clap!! Clap!! Clap!!!

Tuttututtttt Tuttutttttt Tuttutttt (Background music)

Wallauwei... it has been a while since I last post my recipe and tonight we will be cooking burger at home!!

Are you all eager to start cooking now? Ops... first thing first.. get that bloody sink clean!! Oh yeah so that easier for us to look for knives, cutleries and cigarettes later.

Before (well, this only happen during the time when my mom is absent from home)

After (This is the usual view when my mom is around)

Okie.. without wasting more time, here I present the ingredients for our menu tonight.

As we can see here
  1. 2 burger buns which can be replaced with sandwich bread if you like.
  2. 2 chicken eggs which can be replaced with telur itik, telur burung, telur lembu, telur kuda or even telor orang.
  3. Cucumber. Cucumber is a vegie which can always be found at local or international market.
  4. Patties. As we can see here there are 2 type of patties, the red one is beef and the white one is chicken. If you want other type of patty, feel free to make it yourself. Meat patties can easily be found and supermarket at the frozen foods section
  5. Worcestershire(terbelit lidah aku menyebut) sauce which can be replaced with whatever sauce you can find in your kitchen. Sauce pan included.
Okie now since we are ready to cook as we have all of our ingredients lets begin:

druuuuuudrudrudrudrudrudru (background music: drum roll)

Okie now we heat roughly 2 spoons of oil into a frying pan. Usually people always use margarine for the taste but me and my mom have repented(?) from taking margarine just because of the fat contents in it. So, you'll never find any margarine nor butter inside my kitchen. Once the oil is hot, put the patties in. While waiting for the patties to be cooked, cut the burger buns into 2

Once the patties are half cook, take it out and cut it in half. Half means 50% each part. So, 49% or lower and 51% or higher on either part is not acceptable. Please take a note on that.

After cut into 2, put back those patties inside the hot pan with the inside side facing down. Errr... ignore the overcooked patty on the picture above :D

Once cooked properly, put the patties between the burger buns

Then put some worcestershire in between the patties and then slap a slice (or how many slices as you wish, i cant be bothered) of cheddar cheese on top of the sauce (splat!!!: background music)

************************************************************************
Pesanan Penaja. Please watch and then continue with the show

************************************************************************

Then close the patties and start arranging cucumber slices on top of it

Then squeeze chilli sauce (or whatever sauce that u feel like) on top of the cucumber and then close the buns

Serve the burgers on a plate. Never use baldi to serve it as the difficulty of eating from it.

Not an actual size. Image above is not meant to be scaled.

As you all might have noticed,
  • What did i do with the eggs?
I put back in the fridge
  • Why didnt i heat the buns so that it taste nicer?
It's my problem. What does it got to do with you?

Okie... here the real reason of the occasions above. When the patties just been cooked and before i start frying the eggs, I ran out of cooking gas. That was the reason why no eggs being friend and the buns are not heated. Moral of the story: always wear seatbelt while inside a car and never drink and drive.

That's all for tonight show and I hope that you enjoy reading it. Happy cooking burgers!!!!

Adios

Cooking - Ketam Masak Air

⊆ 9:08 AM by Radius | . | ˜ 9 jealous craps »

Welcome to the second edition of Cooking with Chef Hatim.

clap!! clap!! clap!!

Thank you, thank you very much. In today's edition, I will show you how to cook Ketam Masak Air or known in English as Crab Is Cooking (Boiling) Water. We always thought it's very hard to cook crab as its complicated but seriously they are not, its a lot complicated eating them than cooking them. So, if you managed to eat your crab then you should be able to cook your crab.

clap!! clap!! clap!!

Thank you, thank you. Actually i wrote this script myself. Please take note of that. Any question so far?

Q: How can i differentiate between a crab and a chainsaw?
Crab... uhm... yeah... well... its something salty with claws. So, try to lick each item and if it tastes salty and with claws, the probability of you holding a ketam is high.

Q: Oh... never thought of that. Thank you very much, you are the saviour of my life

ok... ok.. ok... cut the crap. I dunno what do they teach at school nowadays, kids dun even know the basic to differentiate items by licking them. Ok, now lets start cooking

Before we start messing up with our kitchen, we should clean it up first. No point to mess a kicthen thats already messy. So, take some time to clean up and make it look like..............

THIS!!!!

Well, these are the ingredients for the dish as u can see there are 3 crabs, 2 onions, 2 lemongrasses and a chilli.

Now, wash and slice the chilly like this.

Peel and cut the onion into 4. But do not cut it through, leave it connected as whole. The reason we cut it that way so that its easier for the juice of the onions to come out. So, be gentle with your knife.

Peel, cut and wash your lemon grass. Which part to cut? both ways, top and down. After cutting the down part of the lemongrass and washed, try to hit the lower part of it with something heavy so that it kemek a little bit. The purpose of doing it is the same as the onions, to let the juice flows easily.

The next thing to do is to clean the crabs. This is how to clean it. Hold the front of the crab (where the eyes are) with both of your hands where your left hand is holding the top side of the shell and your right hand is holding the lower part of the shell. Then try to pull them away slowly and it should open. You might need to use a bit force to pull them open together. May the force be with you. Once it open, rinse it with water so that all the dirts are removed from the crab / shell.

Now, put all of our ingredients into a saucepan. All of them. I prefer to stack / sort crabs on the lower part of the sauce pan and then the rest of the ingredients. You, all of them... yes.. just chuck everything inside there. Good. Now, add up some water and make sure it covers the whole thing... It must cover the whole thing while to much water will make the soup taste a bit bland. So, not too much.. and not too less :D :D Put the sauce pan on the stove, lit the fire and let the soup boil for about 10 minutes. Then add salts, taste the soup... add some more if its not enough. leave it for about 2 or 3 minutes and.....

SERVE!!! Please note that Ketam Masak Air DOES NOT COME with complimentary white rice, fried anchovies and remote controls. Just because i havent teach you how to fry anchovies and cook rice doesnt necessarily mean it comes with this dish automatically. If you dont know how to cook white rice, you can either go to the closest restaurant accessible to you and buy white rice from them or... you can always walk to your neighbor's place, carry an empty plate and ask for white rice(u need to work out of your face expression on this trick). Compared to the fried anchovies where it might be a bit harder for you to have an access to it as its hardly being sold in a restaurant, you can always exchange it with bicycle chain or car's sport rim.

Seriously this dish is so easy to make (a lot easier than Cucur Kentang) and so tasty. I managed to finish 3 plates of white rice when eating this. Oh God... it was heaven.

All the best
Good luck!!!

Clap!! Clap!!! Clap!!
Thank you.. thank you very much. Au Revoir.

Cooking - Cucur Kentang

⊆ 10:10 AM by Radius | . | ˜ 17 jealous craps »

Well, welcome to our first edition of Cooking with Chef Hatim. This series of cooking program is designed to our reader who wish to learn on how to cook. This series is for beginner cook who can't differentiate between cooking oil and frying pan the same way as how non IT people who cant differentiate between mouse and monitor.

In today's program we will be cooking Cucur Kentang. I believe that some of you might have heard of Cucur Udang, Cucur Ikan Bilis and Cucur Bawang but this my secret recipe called Cucur Kentang.

The Ingredients
Vegetable oil. Using feul either Diesel or Petrol are not recommended(Do not come back to me saying "woi.. tuh pun minyak jugak. Mak aku masak guna minyak angin lagi"). The oil need to be heated in a frying pan.

Frying pan with actual oil in it, not feul

Potatoes
Ask your vegetable store owner if you dont know how does potatoes look like.

Potatoes

Onion
Onion is a vegetable that look, smell and taste like onion. Ok good... now you get it

This is how onion will look like after being peeled sliced

Flour and Water
Wheat flour (tepung gandum) and water that already been mixed with salt. You can use sea water if you like but not recommended.

Tepung gandum and water that already been mixed with salt. No, i didnt go to any beach recently

Procedure
Well..

1) Wash the potatoes, peel the skin off and cut it into dice. Please do not substitute potatoes with real dice. Nobody gonna eat it. Do the same thing with onion, peel it off and slice it. Mix them both inside a bowl

washed and diced potatoes

2) Pour flour and salted water(or sea water if its more accessible to you) inside the bowl where cut potatoes and onions are. Start mixing them well.. do not make it too hard or too soft. Too much flour will make our cucur very hard to eat.. and too much water will make it very lembek. Tak sedap makan. So start adding flour or water slowly to make the doh feels just nice.

mixed doh

3) Heat up the oil (Feul, if you are using one) in a frying pan.

4) Once the oil is hot enough. Scoop the mixed doh with a spoon and pour it to the frying pan like in the picture. Please make sure the fire are not too strong or if not it will be burned. While waiting for your cucur to be cooked, you can head out shopping, watching DVD or even mow your lawn.

Placing dough inside the hot oil frying pan to make cucur

5) A cooked cucur will change its colour to white - brownish golden brown (credit: zayck). I toss it using facial tissue paper that i sort it on top of a plate. It will drain the oil out from the cucur. Please note that overcooked cucur (or known as burnt cucur by professional chef) will look black and are not eatable. You are advised to donate it to your neighbour and hoping that she/he will hand back your plate with better food. :) :)

Well fried cucur

Burnt cucur that will soon be feed to your neighbour

This cucur kentang had been served to Ajoy and Mel for break fast with 100% satisfaction. Serve cucur kentang with chili sauce or peanut sauce (the one used in satay, yummy!!!)
Enjoy your meal!!!. Gemuk, if you think that you are the only one who can cook, look at my cucur
